Kybella
What Is Kybella?
Kybella in San Ramon is a non-surgical treatment used to reduce excess fat beneath the chin area. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the use of Kybella in 2015.
Kybella contains a safe and synthetic form of deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid is a bile acid, naturally produced by your body to help absorb fat. Once injected, Kybella’s synthetic deoxycholic acid destroys fat cells beneath the chin area so they can’t store fat anymore.
Michelle did an unbelievable job with my MicroNeedling. It was my first time and she made me feel comfortable from beginning to end. The treatment took about 1 hour and it was not painful at all. Michelle was very knowledgeable, experienced and extremely professional. She even texted me that night and the day after to see how I was doing and made sure I applied the aftertreatment. My wife was amazed how much younger my skin looked after a couple of days. I even noticed that my wrinkles and especially my smile line is much lighter now. I am definitely going back to Blossom MD after a few months and my wife can’t wait to start her treatment as well. I would recommend anybody that is wanting to look younger and feel great to give them a call. You’ll not regret it!

What does it do
Kybella is a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, which is naturally produced in the body to help absorb fat. Kybella, when injected, aids the naturally occurring deoxycholic acid in preventing fat storage.
Am I a good candidate
The best candidate is an adult 18 years or older with moderate to severe fat beneath the chin (in the submental area).
If you have had or are planning to have facial surgery, have trouble swallowing, are pregnant or nursing, or have an infection or medical condition in or near the planned injection site, you may not be a good candidate. Please discuss these factors with your BlossomMD beauty professional.
What Is the Kybella Procedure Like?
Before the double chin reduction procedure is conducted, your healthcare provider will mark the injection sites with a marker and may administer a topical numbing agent if it’s needed. We will make sure to minimize the pain and maximize the comfort. After the injection procedure, the acid then works gradually to destroy fat cells, which are metabolized by the body over the following weeks.
How long does it take?
Treatment length varies by client but the average is approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Including consultation, sessions may run 45 to 60 minutes.
Is it painful?
Because this is an injectable treatment, with no incision, pain and downtime are minimal. Pain tolerance levels vary by client, but most say this treatment feels like a minor pinch to the skin and after its injected, you will feel stinging sansation. We will provide you a ice pack to maximize the comfort.
When can I see the result?
The results of Kybella injections happen gradually. You will start noticing changes in your appearance within 4 to 6 weeks.
How often does kybella need to be treated?
For most people, it takes 3 to 6 sessions (2 or 3 vials each treatments) to reach their ideal profile. Nevertheless, depending on the extent of your submental fullness, you might just require 1 or 2 sessions.
You might anticipate seeing benefits 1 to 3 weeks after your initial treatment session. Treatment sessions are typically scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart.
How long does it last
The need for further treatment is not expected, in that area, after Kybella injections, as results should be lasting when the fat cells are no longer able to store fats.
After treatment
Although downtime/recovery time is minimal, you may experience some swelling, aching, bruising, redness and numbness for 1 to 2 weeks.
Do not touch, rub or manipulate treated area for 2 to 4 hours after the injection. During this time, you should remain in an upright position (no laying down).
Keep head elevated as much as possible for the first 24 to 48 hours after your treatment.
Avoid vigorous activity or exercise, and do not have a facial or chemical peel in treated area for 7 to 14 days.
How Much Does Kybella Cost?
Kybella cost is based on factors such as on the number of treatment sessions. The price of this injectable fat-reduction treatment may also be affected by the number of injections required, which varies from case to case.
