Botox is a Neuromodulator therapy, which is the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment for wrinkle removal or wrinkle relaxation designed to reduce facial expression lines. But did you know that Botox is also used to treat hyperhidrosis, which is excessive sweating in certain body areas?
Excessive sweating can significantly affect quality of life. What you can wear is limited, you have to care for sweat marks all of the time and it can be embarrassing. Botox utilizes botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating and to prevent the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. Treatment is typically needed every 4 to 6 months, as the nerves regenerate.
How Long Does It Take?
Treatment length varies by client but the average is approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Area of treatment and how many units are required will determine session length. Our goal is to support your confidence both on the inside and out.
Is It Painful?
Pain tolerance levels vary by client, but most say this treatment feels like a minor pinch to the skin. Topical numbing cream is available when needed, but is seldom required.
After Treatment
Do not touch, rub or manipulate treated area for 2 to 4 hours after the injection. During this time, you should remain in an upright position (no laying down).
Keep injected area clean.
Avoid vigorous activity or exercise.
Apply sunscreen and avoid direct sun.
When Can I Expect To See Results?
You may see results over the days following treatment, but full effect may take up to 14 days.
How Long Do The Results Last?
Results typically last for 4 to 6 months and in some cases may last longer. To maintain results, we recommend getting smaller touch-ups so we can repair or delay the onset of excessive sweating. Over time, however, patients can go longer between treatments.
