RF Microneedling (Vivace)
Conveniently located to serve San Ramon and Pleasanton
What is RF Microneedling & How Does It Work?
Vivace is the newest generation of RF (RF is Radio Frequency, which provides heat that stimulates collagen production and has been found to lead to tighter, younger looking skin.) Microneedling, and this device are FDA cleared for your safety. This minimally invasive treatment stimulates the natural production of collagen and is shown to be effective in alleviating facial wrinkles, fine lines, and in tightening and toning the face, neck, hands, and body. The Vivace is the most revolutionary, best in class, Microneedling RF device designed for an incomparable, comfortable client experience.
Combining this treatment with the newest breakthroughs in numbing cream, treatment serum, and recovery care creates an optimal patient experience. The Vivace provides the most dramatic results with virtually no pain and no down time. The results are both immediate and also improve over time with multiple treatments. With results you can see, you will look and feel your best at any age.
Last week I brought an HydraFacial and an RF microneedling package and I can already see the results. I had a little redness after the microneedling for about 3 days but nothing bad. It’s been about 7 days since my treatment and I’m loving my skin. I can easily say that my pores have shrunken quite a bit so my face and neck are way more supple and clean. My goal in this next year is to really bring more health back to my skin during this SIP. I prepaid for Vivace package that was a great deal. I might add the vampire facial treatments but still thinking about the costs. All in all really great experience with Demi and Michelle. May consider PDO threads and botox in the coming weeks. Cute little office and very personable staff. They spend a lot of time with you chit chatting. Also the Covid-19 procedures were really great. They took my temperature at my car and gave me a mask (forgot mine). I can see them wiping everything we touched and only allowed 1 client at a time.

What Does It Do?
RF Microneedling is used to address these skin conditions:
- Alleviate wrinkles and fine lines.
- Tighten skin.
- Minimize appearance of scarring, acne scarring, and stretch marks.
- Help tighten pores.
- Improve skin texture and tone.
Vivace RF Microneedling is particularly effective for treatment of the face. It is not an ideal option for treatment of new scars.
Every Vivace treatment is customized to treat the individual patient’s specific skin issues. The technology is calibrated to apply the required energy level and reach the required depth (deeper for harsher skin imperfections, shallower for more superficial issues).
Am I a Good Candidate?
Vivace RF Microneedling is a safe and effective option for all skin tones and skin types, including darker skin. If you are in need of a rejuvenation solution that requires no downtime and doesn’t involve any scalpels or incisions, you are an excellent candidate for Vivace.
Patients of all ages can benefit from Vivace. Microneedling is not recommended for patients with active acne.
Is RF Microneedling a Better Option Than IPL?
Your choice of whether to get RF microneedling or IPL (intense pulsed light) treatment mainly depends on your aesthetic goals. The unique nuances of your skin must also be taken into account.
Vivace RF microneedling is the best option when it comes to rejuvenating skin texture while also addressing the different signs of aging. Not only does RF microneedling penetrate the dermis layer of the skin better, it also improves the overall texture and tone of your skin. This gives your skin a more refreshed and youthful appearance.
IPL is not as effective as RF microneedling when it comes to boosting new collagen production, since RF microneedling stimulates collagen and remodels the skin from the inside out. Because of this, if getting rid of wrinkles or depressed acne scars is your main priority, RF microneedling is the best option.
One of the main benefits of RF microneedling is that it is ideal for people whose skin is sensitive to heat and to the thermal impacts of other energy-based treatments. RF microneedling does not heat through the skin. Instead, it deposits the heat deep inside the skin with the help of very fine needles. Thus, it does not pose the same pigment-change risks as IPL.
Because of this, RF microneedling is a better option for people of Asian descent and people with darker skin types. These skin types are more prone to hyperpigmentation issues, and so extra care is required for preparing these skin types for any skin procedure.
Do I Need to Prepare?
Before a Vivace treatment session, it will be necessary to avoid any exfoliating agents or other astringents for at least a day. Patients who are prone to cold sores may need to take antiviral medications in the time leading up to the day of the treatment.
How Long Does It Take?
Treatment length varies based on the area of treatment but the average is approximately 20 to 45 minutes. Including consultation and numbing, sessions may run 90 minutes or more.
Is It Painful?
We will apply topical numbing cream before the Microneedling treatment to minimize pain and maximize comfort. Once the skin is numb, you may feel light pressure while the device is in use. Most clients find the treatment to be comfortable with virtually no pain or down time. Pain tolerance levels vary by client, but we will make sure that you feel comfortable.
There is no down time for Vivace treatment, but depending on client, you may experience redness, irritation, itching for 2 hours to a day.
Avoid make up for at least 6 hours.
Do not use hydroquinone (the ingredient often used in skincare to brighten and whiten the skin).
Avoid swimming, steam rooms, and vigorous exercise.
Avoid direct sun exposure, since your skin will temporarily be more prone to sun damage.
Avoid waxing and tanning booths for at least 2 to 3 weeks.

When Can I Expect To See Results?
Every patient is unique but typically you will be able to see the results in as few as 3 treatments. It is possible to notice improvement in your skin after 1 treatment.
How Often Does Microneedling Need To Be Performed?
The required number of treatments varies by client needs, area treated and the goal. It is safe to repeat this treatment every 4 to 6 weeks. It is possible to see improvement in your skin with the first treatment but for better results we recommend 3 to 6 treatments.
How Long Do The Results Last?
For scar reduction, once healed, the result will be semi-permanent. Results vary because the collagen you make is your own and will continue accelerated production over three months. Results increase over time. For long lasting results, a good home skincare routine is necessary. To minimize the risk of new sun damage, it will be helpful to always wear sunscreen with a proper SPF (30 or higher) and to reapply regularly.
How Much Does It Cost?
The average price of a Vivace facial treatment is between $600 and $1,100. Cost is dependent on your choice of med spa. The cost will also vary based on the amount of treatments needed to achieve your skin goal. Clients may also consider adding PRP to maximize results.
