What Is a Dermal Filler?
In this treatment, dermal fillers are injected into areas to replace lost volume and revitalize the skin. Several types of fillers are available in this market. Each of the fillers is made to treat specific areas. The filler chosen is based on which area is being treated.
Fillers are popular to fill in lines, to be used as a lip filler, and to give extra added contouring to the face, providing the youthful look that you desire.
I finally found a medical spa that is professional and also interpersonal. For the services that I’ve done in Blossom are absolutely perfect and at a reasonable price. It might have happened to you that sales personnel at the some spas are very pushy to sell unnecessary products and/or service. In Blossom, I’ve never been sold any service that are not what I wanted and I think this is one of the biggest reason that I love coming here. No pressure at all. When it comes to my beauty and health, I value the quality and service the most. This is another reason I love coming to see Demi is because she would not scarifies her quality (in terms of service or product) over the cheap alternative brand. At Blossom, I feel I’m being taking care by a very closed friend who listens how I feel and what I want. Super recommend Blossom Med Spa. The services I’ve done are: -Hydro facial -Botox -Hyaluronic acid Love it!!

What does it do?
Dermal fillers are used to treat and improve the appearance of multiple areas of the face like the cheeks, lips, and around the mouth by injecting Hyaluronic acid.
Dermal fillers are commonly used for:
- Fine lines
- Plumping lips
- Cheekbone enhancement
How does it work? ( the science behind dermal fillers)
As we age, our skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid naturally depletes. Hyaluronic acid is a substance that bonds with water molecules to create and maintain moisture and volume in the skin. As it depletes, moderate and harsh age lines form in several parts of the face.
Dermal fillers restore skin volume in several ways. Hyaluronic acid fillers like JUVÉDERM and BELOTERO BALANCE are used to supplement the skin’s dwindling level of hyaluronic acid.
PRP fillers are composed of a different substance: platelet-rich plasma from the patient’s own body. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains several growth factors, which cause the body to rejuvenate its cells. During treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and then placed in a centrifuge, where the platelets and the plasma are separated. These are combined and then injected into wrinkles to smooth them away.
How long does it take?
Treatment length varies by the client based on the number of areas being treated, the specific aesthetic flaws being addressed, and the amount of product needed to attain the desired results. The average treatment time, including consultation, is approximately 60 minutes.
Am I a good candidate?
Ideal candidates for injectable dermal filler treatments are patients who are not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients who do not have active skin infections in the treatment area are also good candidates. If you have an active skin infection, this must be resolved before treatment. If you are prone to cold sore please contact your physicial to prescribe you a mmedication before the procedure.
Additionally, good candidates have realistic expectations regarding their dermal filler results. It is recommended that patients look at our dermal filler before and after photos to gain a better understanding of what fillers can do for them.
Is it painful?
Pain tolerance levels vary by client, but most say this treatment feels like a minor pinch to the skin. The nurses will apply topical numbing cream to sensitive areas to minimize pain and maximize comfort.
Additionally, the Juvederm line of products contains a local anesthetic called lidocaine to minimize any discomfort during the injection process.
When can I expect to see the result?
You will see some results right after the injection process. Some dermal fillers continue to provide results over time as they may stimulate collagen production and help with moisture retention. The practitioner will hand you a mirror so you can see the results yourself and discuss with the practitioner any further results you would like to achieve
How often does Dermal Filler need to be treated?
While some Dermal Filler have a 6 to 18 months lifespan, others require reapplication every 4-6 months for maximum results. The material gradually breaks down and the body naturally absorbs Dermal Filler that are injected and everyone is different. Follow-up treatments are recommended for continued results.
How long does it last?
Results may last from 6 to 18 months or longer. Results vary from client to client based on factors like the area of treatment, the type of dermal filler used and their metabolism. The material gradually breaks down and the body naturally absorbs the molecules. Follow-up treatments are recommended for continued results.
Dermal fillers can also be combined with other treatments, like Botox injections, for more comprehensive results.
After treatment?
No recovery or downtime is typically required after a dermal filler injection treatment. It is common to have bruising or swelling after the treatments.
Guidelines for post-treatment care:
- Do not touch, rub or manipulate the treated area for 1 to 4 hours after the injection. (Only when your provider tells you to do so)
- Refrain from doing any vigorous activity or exercise for 24 hours
- Apply sunscreen and avoid direct sunscreen.
- Do not expose the area to intense heat (eg solarium or sauna)
- Avoid pressure on the treated areas for the first few nights (i.e. sleep on back of possible)
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours

Down time?
The initial swelling after treatments may last longer than two days. Some patients experience swelling for about a week and the injected area can look somewhat uneven during this time. This means that the result directly after the treatment should not be seen as the final result. It may take 2-4 weeks to even out. After any treatment with fillers, you may FEEL lumpy and/or bumpy for a few weeks or even months afterwards. This is normal. The key is not to SEE the lumps
How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost?
The price of your dermal filler treatment depends on several factors. Dermal filler cost will vary based on client needs, area of treatment, and types of fillers used.
